What To Do When Someone Is Having An Asthma Attack

Most asthma attack causes breath shortage, so the first thing to do when someone is having an asthma attack is to get them to sit up. Raise their arms up and hold for several minutes.

Provide and inhaler as fast as possible or ask them if they have one close, since most asthma patients know what they need when attacked. Just listen and be ‘there’ for them.

If there are other medicines or written specifications for your friend, just do as it says to save life.

Being fast as possible, when all failed and are not responding to medication for up to 10 mins look for ambulance service, call emergency centre.

Make sure you remain calm and relaxed. In most cases the action of the nursing individual has great effect in the recovery of a person having an asthma attack.

Talk calmly and moderately reassure the well being of a person having an asthma attack.

When someone is having an asthma attack and his lips start to turn blue, do not wait. Call 911 immediately.
